I would like to challenge the notion that the Supreme court got this decision wrong.
The Lame-Stream Media claims most people whether republican or democrat think that campaign contributions by corporations should be limited.  However, this is just a brainwashing technique used by politicians, corporations and special interests to distract us from the real problem which they want to hide.

To understand the real problem, we must first identify the actual result that Americans want as opposed to being misled into believing in a faulty mechanism for achieving our desired result.  The desired result Americans want is to: “eliminate the ability of corporations to run the government and yield power over Americans by influencing politicians.”  However, the politicians, corporations and special interests want us to believe what we really want is to limit corporate contributions.  The problem with this is two-fold: (1) it is a mechanism and not a desired result, (2) so far, it hasn’t worked for Americans (unless of course you are a politician, corporation or special interest.)

So how do you achieve the desired result?  You have to go back to the constitution.  Our founding fathers were very smart individuals with great foresight and insight into human nature.  To think they overlooked the problem at hand, is an insult to their achievements.

They knew that in order to not limit freedom of speech and keep corrupt influences from running the government that government power had to be very limited.  In fact, if the Constitution had to be summarized in 3 words, they would be: “limitation on government.”

The founding fathers knew if government had no power to give special interests anything in return for their contributions, those contributions would disappear on their own.  Unfortunately, our government has grown way too powerful and has too much influence over our lives, and therefore, has the ability to deliver favors in return for contributions from special interests.

The Supreme Court got it right: limiting free speech is unconstitutional.  However, so is runaway government power!  To achieve our desired result, we must focus on the fixing the right problem: Limit government power!

Of course, those in power don’t want to do this.  So they try to make us see the problem through the wrong prism.  It’s like a magic trick: if I can make you look at a place where the slight of hand is not taking place, I can make you believe the trick is real!
